I will be hiring several students to help conduct field and laboratory research this summer.  I encourage students who are interested in gaining research experience in aquatic ecology to contact me to discuss potential opportunities.  I am looking for highly motivated students who can work in a cooperative environment.  Some positions will be field-based so previous outdoor experience and a positive attitude will be an asset.  Other positions are lab-based and will require someone with attention to detail and some data analysis skills.

SWEP (Summer Work Experience Program)
We have two positions available this summer. One will be based at the Queen's University Biological Station (QUBS) and the other will be based at our research lab in Dorset, ON (FLAMES lab at the Dorset Environmental Science Centre).

Position 1: Field Assistant to Study Effects of Multiple Stressors on Zooplankton Communities
Position 2: Research Assistant to study the effects of multiple stressors on zooplankton

Please see the Queen's University Career Services website for more details.

NSERC-USRA
These competitive awards provide opportunities for students to gain valuable research experience in NSERC-funded research labs. We will have one or two positions available for successful students; one will be based at QUBS and one will be based at FLAMES in Dorset, ON.
More information about these awards and how to apply can be found here:

Biology Undergraduate Summer Awards (BUGS)
There are several awards available for undergraduate students who are conducting research at the field station.  The awards generally cover the cost of room and board and provide a small stipend.  Please see the QUBS award website for more details:
