BIOL860, Experimental design and data management
This is an introductory statistics course for graduate students. We cover basics of data visualization, experimental design, power analyses, and data manipulation. Students are required to do assignments in R.
BIOL410, Ecology of Lakes and Streams
We will cover some of the ecological foundations in aquatic ecology and delve into exciting new areas of study. Classes will be comprised of lectures and student-led discussions of papers in the current scientific literature.
BIOL307/407, Environmental Change in Lake Ecosystems
This course is taught at the Queen’s University Biological Station at the end of summer every second year and gives students hands-on opportunities to study a diversity of lakes in the Frontenac Axis. Students sample several lakes in the region and conduct independent projects to assess community response to environmental change.
